Founder Front-Line Hours Calculator

Estimate last week, function by function. You get your front-line total, the share of it that pulled you in, and the function to review first. It takes about three minutes and nothing leaves your browser unless you ask for the printable log.

1. Your week

Count every hour you worked last week, evenings and weekends included.

2. Front-line hours by function

Front-line work is operating work inside a function someone else owns or should own: selling an ordinary deal, doing delivery work, fixing a problem a manager should fix, approving routine items. Deliberate hours were agreed with your team in advance for a stated purpose. Pulled-in hours are everything else, including work you took over unasked. Leave a row at zero if it does not apply.

Turn the estimate into a measured baseline

A week remembered favors the meetings and loses the interruptions between them. The printable two-week log records each 30-minute block as it happens: the function, deliberate or pulled-in, who brought it to you and why you were needed. Leave your details and the log opens on this page.

We use your details to follow up on the Founder Blueprint. You can print or save this page either way.

Where this measure lives

In the Founder Blueprint, front-line hours per week is the second line of the leadership team's weekly scorecard, directly after cash. The full method, including how to classify selling, reviews and coaching, is in our guide to how much of the week a founder should spend on front-line work.
